Case Study

In its heyday Wickety Wak were one of the biggest entertainment acts in Australia, with national tours, successful record sales and even their own television show. In 2006 the iconic Aussie group decided it was time for a big and sustained comeback which required a new brand identity, promotional materials, advertising and web site.

Code designed a modern, bright, and bold brand identity; an identity that reflected the personality of the group. Like the boys this ID is no shrinking violet. The ID was used consistently across all applications, DVD's, calendars, posters, postcards, print advertising and web, ensuring, as all good branding should, that the whole equaled more than the sum of its parts.

One of the most important of those parts is the web site — The WAK web site gives fans exactly what they after; easy to reach tour details on the home page, plenty of photos and video clips and tons of background info. User experience was a top priority; unnecessary excursions away from the browsing point were kept to a minimum by developing functionality like popover opt-in forms, photos and video. The opt-in newsletter forms load in a layer right at the browsing point, enabling the user to fill in their details with the minimum of fuss which in turn fosters the capture of this valuable data. Code also developed a custom CRM tool that allows the client to update tour info, photos and other transient data on the site. The new site is due to go live in May 2007.

The WAK are back and here to stay; Greg, Peter, Pahnie, Tony and Robbie have never looked so good.
